Available dates and venues... - Saturday 23rd & 24th August 2025 9:30-16:00 Frill & Flounce, Wyke, BD12 9JD - Tuesday 11th & Tuesday 18th November 2025 (spread over two Tuesdays, ideal for taking your time to absorb the information and make the most of it) 9:30-16:00 Frill & Flounce, Wyke, BD12 9JD Join me, Katie, for a weekend of pattern cutting and drafting up a basic, toile bodice with sleeves in calico to your personal measurements. The toile/mock-up’s purpose is create a standard top/bodice and sleeve block that will work as a template for your further creations. You will be able to take these away to make adaptations for your own unique designs. Alternatively, you could use them as a blueprint to assist you in making changes to bought patterns that just don’t fit as well as you would like. There will be sewing machines provided and equipment, but if you have your favourite tools, such as your trusty shears, please feel free to bring them along. A bit about me… I have a BA Honors degree in Fashion Design from Leeds Art University. Plus, a background of working as a Military Tailor following MoD specifications and as a technician assisting degree students to bring their wonderful creations to life! About the workshop… Day 1 9:30-16:00 (0.5 Lunch) - Introduction to Blocks and their purpose - Taking your measurements - Drafting bodice block with dart manipulation - Drafting sleeve block - Notches and their purpose - Construction basic bodice toile out of provided calico Day 2 9:30-16:00 (0.5 Lunch) - Continue construction basic bodice toile out of provided calico - Make adaptations to pattern - Basic pattern blocks will now fits individual and if time can move onto making basic changes to include a design choice. £110 for the whole weekend! If you would like to spread the cost please email me at beforeyoustitch@icloud.com. A £35 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place. The remaining balance is refundable up to 2 weeks before the workshop begins. After that, no refunds can be given. Cancellation Policy
Eligible to full refund except the deposit anytime until 2 weeks before start of the workshop. Unfortunately if canceling within the 2 weeks before the start of workshop will result in no refund. If you do find yourself in a position where you do have to cancel please contact me as I will do my best to find a solution with you.
