Service Description
Have you ever finished making a garment only to find it doesn’t fit quite as you’d hoped? Perhaps the shoulders are too wide, the bust pulls, the waist sits in the wrong place, or the trousers just don’t feel comfortable. Don’t let your handmade clothes stay unworn in the wardrobe. The Fit Clinic is a practical workshop designed for anyone who sews and wants to improve the fit of their handmade garments. You don’t need any pattern cutting experience—just bring along one garment you’ve made, together with the original paper pattern, and we’ll work through the fitting issues together. During the workshop you will: - Identify why your garment isn’t fitting as expected. - Learn how to assess common fitting problems. - Make the necessary adjustments to your paper pattern. - Pin and discuss alterations to your garment where appropriate. - Gain the confidence to apply the same fitting techniques to future projects. This is a hands-on, supportive workshop with plenty of individual guidance, helping you understand why alterations are needed rather than simply showing you what to do. Please bring: - One handmade garment that you’d like to improve. - The original paper pattern (including any traced copies). - Matching thread or fabric if you wish to make minor alterations during the session. To ensure everyone receives plenty of one-to-one support, places are limited. Leave with a better-fitting garment, an adjusted pattern you can use again, and the knowledge to make your next project fit even better.
Cancellation Policy
Eligible to full refund except the deposit anytime until a week before start of the workshop. Unfortunately if canceling within a week before the start of workshop will result in no refund. If you do find yourself in a position where you do have to cancel please contact me as I will do my best to find a solution with you.
